What Does Safety Look Like, Sound Like, and Feel Like?

When life feels overwhelming, it can be hard to feel grounded or safe. Stress, relational trauma, and crisis often leave our bodies in survival mode, making it difficult to pause, breathe, and reconnect with a sense of calm.

That’s why we’ve created FREE What Does Safety Look Like, Sound Like, and Feel Like? worksheets. This gentle activity is a supplement for a TS-12 Anon Stage 1 inventory for safety and stability, guiding you through imagining and building an inner safe place—a space you can return to anytime, even when the world around you feels unsteady.

Through 3 simple prompts, you’ll reflect on what safety means for you personally. What does it look like? What does it sound like? What does it feel like? There’s no right or wrong way—your safe place might be a real location, a place from your imagination, or a blend of both.

The worksheets offer space to write, doodle, and/or draw your answers, helping you anchor the visualization in a tangible way. Many people find that having a physical reminder of this inner safe place makes it easier to access in moments of stress or anxiety.
